This session shares time-honored methods of collective dances, songs, and chants that inspire cultural uplift and build self–esteem and awareness in children. Educators will explore innovative and multidisciplinary ways to encourage children to engage in collective effort, contribute to the group, and show respect for their own leadership skills and that of others. Through this engaging workshop led by Teaching Artist, Celeta Hickman, educators will create memorable learning experiences that can be used in the classroom to reinforce basic skills and promote healthy social development. Reduced registration fee with support from Southwest Regional Key.
